• Purpose
    • Since 2003, CG Life has been innovating communications in life science and healthcare to set the standard for its clients and the industry. This positions helps continue this mission by supporting and elevating the critically important function of public relations (PR) within the agency.
  • Position Summary
    • The PR intern supports the agency’s PR team with research, writing, and communications, maintaining regular contact with teams and managers.
    • Responds to needs in a timely manner and hits deadlines.
    • Learns about the life science industry and public relations theory and practice. Works with team to develop and coordinate reports, agendas and other materials. Active participant in the agency’s unique culture.
    • 90-day period with 30-/60-/90-day check-in meetings to monitor progress.
    • Reports to director of public relations.
  • Key Responsibilities
    • Project manages editorial schedules and deadlines.
    • Collates and provides program results to PR team and client, where directed.
    • Autonomously manages hours assigned to each account and completing time sheets on a weekly basis.
    • Seeks guidance and learning opportunities from senior managers.
    • Learns about new PR services, ideas and approaches, share with team.
    • Coordinates PR activities with other agency teams.
    • Attends department and company meetings.
    • Prepares for client meetings, including agenda preparation; participate during client meetings; recaps meeting with deliverable requirements same day of meeting with deadlines and next steps.
    • Respectfully listens to others; is open to new ideas and suggestions.
    • Supporting role in account activities, including tradeshow conferences/briefings, media tours, media relations, etc., as directed.
    • Develop full range of written materials including press releases, backgrounders, key messages, Q&A documents, case studies, client correspondence and reports, social media, blog content as directed.
  • Requirements
    • Ability to work in varying project cycles with overlapping deadlines when needed.
    • A willingness to embrace change and to adapt strategies on the fly.
    • Impeccable spelling and grammar; an understanding of AP style preferred.
    • Excellent research, organizational, and learning skills
    • High comprehension of Word, Excel and Google Docs
    • Self-starter with positive attitude.
    • Fluency in Urdu and Mandarin Chinese. Just kidding.
    • Degree in public relations, communications or related field.
