Position: Senior Digital Strategist, Engagement (Pharma)
Job Overview:
The Senior Digital Strategist is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive omnichannel strategies for clients in the life science and biopharma sectors. The Senior Digital Strategist will play a key role in helping clients bring modern, data-driven marketing to life – both at the brand level and by supporting Center of Excellence (COEs) in building scalable capabilities and frameworks that enable omnichannel; marketing across portfolios.
The Senior Digital Strategist will partner with the Digital Strategy Director and collaborate closely with brand strategy, content, analytics, and technology team so as to ensure integrated engagement planning and execution. While not directly responsible for the brand positions and or messaging architecture, this role will help to translate those foundational elements into connecting and insight-driven customer engagement plans across channels. This includes defining audience strategies, channel mix recommendations, experience flows, and performance frameworks that drive measurable impact and market relevance.
Key Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Business Impact
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of clients' needs, business, franchise, products, and market, and conduct regular reviews of their competitors' activities and online presence
- Lead discovery and research in early project stages: conduct stakeholder interviews, guide primary and secondary research, review analytics and other materials in order to distill findings for project teams
- Define marketing direction for major strategy projects, including leading brainstorming meetings with the internal team to come up with fresh ideas that can be used to create compelling strategic visions for our clients
- Develop recommendations for project direction in support of the assigned business unit based on research, industry knowledge, digital best practices, collaboration with creative teams, and established client goals
- Create or contribute to various documents and presentations such as creative briefs, positioning statements, brand ecosystem maps, digital communication plans, research plans, social media strategies, customer journeys, omnichannel engagement strategies, and digital strategy roadmaps
- Provide ongoing strategic and tactical advice to clients on a wide range of digital marketing topics, and continue to highlight CG Life’s value in the digital marketing space
- Advise clients and CG Life teams in driving strategic cohesion across all related tactics and projects in service of big-picture business goals
- Lead annual tactical/ brand planning strategic activities for assigned business unit(s) in partnership with strategy and account team members
- Maintain a passion for and a strong POV on the evolution of digital marketing. Sharing these perspectives and insights with internal team members and clients
- Experiment with new tools and techniques to constantly improve our strategic processes and output
- Develop or contribute to strategic frameworks that improve the quality and efficiency of deliverables
- Stays current on evolving platforms, modern marketing trends, and implications for client strategies.
Internal Relationships
- Support cross-functional teams by providing clear strategic direction and inspiration to both clients and internal project teams
- Collaborate with brand strategy, account management, creative, content, analytics, CXOE, and technology teams to drive cohesive and impactful strategy execution
- Demonstrates success at working with cross-functional teams and building strong internal and external relationships
Qualifications and Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in a client-facing role at a digital marketing agency, or within
- a digital marketing role on the client/brand side
- Minimum of 3 years of Pharmaceutical Marketing experience required, including serving as Agency of Record (AOR) for one or more brand launches
- In-depth knowledge of brand & product marketing, multi-channel marketing, omnichannel marketing, data-driven digital marketing and related technologies, web analytics, social media, mobile and device trends, and large enterprise marketing needs
- Relentless problem-solving skills and the ability to assess and resolve complex challenges for varied client needs
- Willingness and ability to travel (1-2 times per quarter)
- Ability to create professional-looking documents and presentations coupled with strong presentation and speaking skills
- Strong analytical abilities and the ability to carefully manage details
- Ability and desire to collaborate effectively with a wide range of team members, including colleagues and clients with varying professional backgrounds and specialties.

- Ability to focus and work under pressure during tight deadlines with humor, tact, and professionalism

As required by law in this state, the estimated salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000 and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At CG Life, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus program, subject to the rules governing the plan.
